Do you match laminate wood flooring to your cabinets?
Posted by: | CommentsDo you usually match wood flooring (or laminate wood flooring) to your cabinet color? I’m thinking of doing a laminate flooring in my house and wanted to know if I should match the floor to the cabinets or if I should go with a darker flooring. The cabinets I have now are a pine color, similar to the color in this link: http://images.lowes.com/product/042369/042369244565.jpg
What color do you think would go well with them? Please include a link if possible. Thanks!

Which is best for resale: laminate flooring or carpeting?
Posted by: | CommentsWe have had a little bit of water damage in our basement. We are going to probably have to remove the carpeting altogether, and we are going to be looking for a replacement. Laminate flooring vs. carpeting: which is better for resale on a home? We will be selling our home within the next 1-2 years.
I have really bad allergies so it would help me out to have a laminate or Pergot (sp?). I just want it to look nice and be an asset to the house when it comes to selling it.

How do I repair laminate flooring gaps?
Posted by: | CommentsWe bought a home that has laminate flooring with gaps in the boards. We figured it would be an easy replacement but quickly realized it would cost too much to replace a 900 sq ft room based only on the gaping of a few boards. The gapping is in the middle of room so its really noticeable and I have no idea how to fix this. If anybody has any idea or tips please help! Thanks in advance!

I am installing laminate flooring in my basement. I did not measure correctly and my final row is going to be about 1.5 in wide. The manufacture says not less than 2 in. Why 2 in.? The last row will never be walked on since it will mostly be under the trim.

What’s the best way to clean wood laminate flooring?
Posted by: | CommentsGot new flooring about a month ago. I’m thinking maybe laminate wasn’t a good choice. I live in the desert & the floor seems to always be dusty. I tried a swiffer vac but it seems to do a superficial job. And I learned quick that you can’t let the mop water dry on the floor because it will look streaked & dull when it drys.

How do you remove dye from laminate flooring?
Posted by: | CommentsThe laminate floor in my bathroom has dye/paint on it and I don’t know how to get it off. The color came from the dye/decoration on a plastic bag that got wedged under a hamper and got wet. The ink transferred to the floor and now I don’t know how to get it off. The flooring is not the best, and I know that if I use a scrubby on it I’ll just damage the floor. Any suggestions? The floor is off white, so something that would bleach out the color without damaging the floor might work, but I don’t know anything like that either (regular bleach will not work). Thanks!
