Can Home Depot install laminate flooring with furniture still in room?
Posted by: | CommentsI have a small condo, and want to get rid of the carpet, and have Home Depot install a laminate flooring.
However, obviously because my apartment is so small, finding somewhere to put all my furniture and my couch etc is going to be tough.
Has anyone had any experience with this? Can Home Depot (or other) install flooring with all the furniture to one side, and then as they move across, move the furniture to the other side etc?

How to match existing laminate flooring?
Posted by: | CommentsMy husband and I had existing laminate flooring in our kitchen and eating area when we purchased our home. We have a very open floor plan and this area leads directly into our living space. The carpet in this area is old and needs replacing. We think that the most economical solution would be to replace the carpet with laminate that would match what already exists in the kitchen, but there are so many different types of laminate we are a bit perplexed as to how to match the new to the old.

Laminate flooring question- How to place around rail posts and on ledges?
Posted by: | CommentsI’ve changed plans for my upstairs flooring. I’ve decided to do laminate wood flooring in the upstairs living room, dining room and kitchen, and carpet on the stairs and the three bedrooms. In the living room, there is a ledge (it’s a bi-level) that has a hand rail going around it that leads down the stairs. How would I install the laminate flooring around the rail posts and how would I finish off the ledges so that they look clean? Thanks in advance!

Me and my girlfriend just moved into a rent house. The previous tenants had many dogs and the carpet smells of animal urine. Even after they have been profesionally cleaned the carpet in many spots still smells of animal urine. I was wondering whether this was a health hazard, and could the landlord be forced by law to replace the carpet. We have just moved in and have payed first months rent. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We live in Texas as well, maybe the laws are different. Thanks again!

How do you install laminate flooring under sliding closet doors?
Posted by: | CommentsWe have closet doors that aren’t on tracks, but just has a middle piece screwed to the ground to keep the doors in place. We plan on pulling up the carpet, which goes into the closet. So, I’m wondering what is the proper way to install the laminate flooring there? Should we stop the flooring just outside the closet door and leave the carpet in place inside the closet? Or are we supposed to screw the middle piece to the top of the laminate? Or what?
