Conveyancing

I thought of putting my home on the market some time this year. The agent fee came with a free (HIP).When the down turn came I quickly instructed the agent to withdraw the property and thats even before the conveyancing was done. Am I eligible to pay for somework that was not carried out. Do you think I have got any chance in court or should seek legal advice.

Conveyancing

What are steps, cost and forms and links, etc (i.e HM Land regsitry),
I mean in the UK only. Most mortgage companies don’t offer free conveyancing.

Is my solicitor culpable?

Posted by: | Comments (1)
Conveyancing

I purchased a home employing a solicitor to do the conveyancing. It transpires that the title was never transferred to my name although I have been paying the mortgage on the property which the bank agreed to.
What culpability does the lawyer have and what recourse do I have?

Financial Ombudsman?

Posted by: | Comments (1)
Conveyancing

The solicitor’s firm dealing with the conveyancing of my mortgage have to be the most inept bunch of cowboys I’ve ever come across. My mortgage offer has expired because they have taken 7 MONTHS to do whatever it is they do.
Now obviously the action I would like to take would be to visit the office of my solicitors and set it on fire, however as that’s not really practical (yet) is the financial ombudsman the correct people to complain to or am I wasting my breath? Or is there a more powerful body I can raise a complaint with?
I would like to cause as much damage as possible without setting fire to the building….

Hi,

What changes did the HRA 1998 bring about to the practice of conveyancing?

If I could just have the titles of the areas of law…
