laminate flooring

We’re laying a new floor in our bathroom and I was wondering if we can lay the new self-stick laminate over the old laminate flooring that’s in there or if the old flooring should be torn up and the new flooring laid on top of the wood floor. Thanks!

I have a decent amount of click together laminate flooring that states it was “Made in Slovakia” on the back. The rest of the information on each plank reads D-9279 281005 305-SK 12:33. I still need a good amount however and I am looking foir more. Can anyone tell me who made this flooring and how old it may be? Thanks!

Do you usually match wood flooring (or laminate wood flooring) to your cabinet color? I’m thinking of doing a laminate flooring in my house and wanted to know if I should match the floor to the cabinets or if I should go with a darker flooring. The cabinets I have now are a pine color, similar to the color in this link: http://images.lowes.com/product/042369/042369244565.jpg

What color do you think would go well with them? Please include a link if possible. Thanks!

We have had a little bit of water damage in our basement. We are going to probably have to remove the carpeting altogether, and we are going to be looking for a replacement. Laminate flooring vs. carpeting: which is better for resale on a home? We will be selling our home within the next 1-2 years.
I have really bad allergies so it would help me out to have a laminate or Pergot (sp?). I just want it to look nice and be an asset to the house when it comes to selling it.

laminate flooring

I have read past postings about this and there seems to be conflicting info :-) . I have purchased a home with laminate flooring…not real hardwood. It is to my understanding that you cannot use any cleaner which contains any oils etc, such as Murphys. I have used vinegar in the water and although they appear clean, they do not shine. Does anyone know of a very good cleaner which will increase the shine? If so, I would love to know about it or any other tips for keeping these floors looking nice, I am not real pleased with my results so far so any advise will help. And yes, I have mopped them over and over and over, I do not think there is a build up on them..but I could be wrong…lol. Any info will be appreciated!!

How do I repair laminate flooring gaps?

Posted by: | Comments (3)
laminate flooring

We bought a home that has laminate flooring with gaps in the boards. We figured it would be an easy replacement but quickly realized it would cost too much to replace a 900 sq ft room based only on the gaping of a few boards. The gapping is in the middle of room so its really noticeable and I have no idea how to fix this. If anybody has any idea or tips please help! Thanks in advance!

We moved some furniture on the weekend and put a few light surface scratches on the laminate flooring. Is there any way to get these out (or reduce them) without replacing the boards??

(Its a rental property so i don’t want to start messing around with it too much)

laminate flooring

I just finished putting laminate floor down and realized that even though I thought I had leveled all areas of the room, in one corner of the room, there is a spot that dips when walked on. Is there any way to fix this now that the flooring is already installed? Can something be placed underneath those panels to solve the problem? Or will it need to be pulled up so it can be leveled? What will happen if I do not level it? Thank you for your help!

We put laminate flooring thru-out our new house. They have done some cutting with a table saw and mudding some spots in the door frames and hall. I now have a floor full of saw dust and sanded off drywall mud on the floor. I tried using a damp washcloth (rung out as much as I could, so it didn’t drip) but there are now smear marks on the floor and the shine is gone. What can I do it get it back?

I have been cleaning my laminate flooring with some cleaner just for laminate flooring and my floor keeps looking duller and duller with each cleaning. It is a new floor and I want it to look great not dull and old looking. Any suggestions?

We are going to be replacing the old laminate flooring in our house but underneath what is already there is uneven wood flooring. We don’t want to refinish those floors right now. Is there some type of pad that can be put under the laminate before it is put down to help with this a little?

I wanted to keep my shine to the laminate flooring installed and found that I messed up by using mop and glow…the build up is HORRIBLE! How can I safely breakdown the buildup and restore luster to the flooring, it wasn’t cheap laminate either….so I don’t want to replace if possible.

Currently we have vinyl flooring, and it’s awful. Ceramic isn’t an option, and we used to have hardwood, but our kids destroyed it. So now laminate it is. Any ideas colour-wise? Should I try to match it to the cabinets?

I have blonde laminate flooring, when it was put in, there was a small bleached-out mark on it, it has gotten lighter over the years, almost white, how can I remove it? Its about the size of half of stick of gum so its really noticeable. I had a rug over it, but now I need to sell the house, is there a crayon of some sort that can cover it?

We are removing laminate flooring from our kitchen and entry way and we plan to put down ceramic tile. We are having a hard time removing the lamite flooring. Is there a easier way to remove it? The glue and backing of the lamite is not coming off easily.

I am looking for laminate flooring for my home and need to know if this brand (Tarket) is good choice or if someone can recommend a medium priced product. I don’t need high end and I don’t want the cheapest flooring either. I do want a good quality.

I want to lay laminate flooring in my hall but at one end of the hall there is a step down to the vestibule. Should I bother laminating this room? Or is there a good way of laminating to the edge and getting a decent finish?

Has anybody else had this problem?

I have a small condo, and want to get rid of the carpet, and have Home Depot install a laminate flooring.

However, obviously because my apartment is so small, finding somewhere to put all my furniture and my couch etc is going to be tough.

Has anyone had any experience with this? Can Home Depot (or other) install flooring with all the furniture to one side, and then as they move across, move the furniture to the other side etc?

How to match existing laminate flooring?

laminate flooring

My husband and I had existing laminate flooring in our kitchen and eating area when we purchased our home. We have a very open floor plan and this area leads directly into our living space. The carpet in this area is old and needs replacing. We think that the most economical solution would be to replace the carpet with laminate that would match what already exists in the kitchen, but there are so many different types of laminate we are a bit perplexed as to how to match the new to the old.
