The problem is a lot of the brown paint has come off in patches leaving white paint underneath. Is there a way I can easily remove the brown paint?

We have a written agreement with a tenant till August 2010 for a property in CT. Can we legally let the tenants know that we want to sell the property and if it is sold before their lease is up give them 30 days to find a place and move out. The property is costing us a lot of extra money and we want to get rid of it. Does anyone know the laws around here?

Can i rent a house if i am unemployed with a lot of savings?
Posted by: | CommentsI would like to rent a house but i am unemployed due to illness, I don’t claim any benefits but i have £120,000 in savings.
Would i be allowed to rent a house from an estate agent/private landlord considering i have no earnings but have quite a bit of savings put by to pay the rent and bills etc? I have bank statements to prove all savings and references. Thanks.

How do you like laminate flooring in your kitchen?
Posted by: | CommentsI am considering laminate flooring in my kitchen because I can install it myself. However, I am concerned about spilled water and if that will damage the flooring or the subfloor. I cook a lot, do home canning where water from washing huge quantities of vegetables can spill, and have pet cats with their water bowls in the kitchen.
Any tips you have would be really appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I’m looking at putting laminate flooring in the kitchen but our steel door leading out to our garage can barely “clear” the current vinyl flooring when it opens, so I know it wouldn’t be able to open with a taller laminate floor. I don’t want to spend a lot of money on a new door or make any major renovations. Any suggestions?

What is the best way to attract a developer to a property you are trying to sell?
Posted by: | CommentsI own a 4-plex with a friend of mine in Minnesota, in an area that is still in “transition”, but is starting to be developed. We don’t live in Minnesota, and have had a LOT of challenges keeping the property going, due to excessive inspections (lead based paint, fire, etc.), problems with tenants, etc. If we sold the property outright, right now, we would not be able to recoup our losses. We would like to attract a developer to the property, which is slated for redevelopment which has already begun, in order to be able to break even on our “investment”. We have lots of ideas ourselves for what a developer could do. Should we start our own website for the property, and then place an ad in the local finance and commerce magazine, to attract developers? Would it help to share our ideas with developers? The county and city were going to send out a joint “request for proposal” to developers for the property on either side of us, but have decided to wait.

How do you buy property or a home?
Posted by: | CommentsI mean it’s not like I have $200,000 in my pocket. How do you buy property or a home when you don’t have tons and tons of money at one time? If it’s any different for getting a house or a mobile home (off the lot) or just empty land please let me know. And thanks or your help!
