Now we have large areas of clean plaster and even larger areas of plaster covered in old emulsion paint. Some of the paint we have been able to scrape off and some we haven’t. We would like to paint the room afterwards, not wallpaper it again. Any tips appreciated.

Do I need to use a Primer when painting a bathroom after stripping wallpaper?
Posted by: | CommentsI have a small bathroom I am repainting. It had old wallpaper, which I have completely stripped off usign DIFF remover. Now it is down to the smooth wood (?) wall.
Do I need to prime the surface before painting? I have heard since it is a bathroom, where lots of moisture will be , from the shower, ect, I need a primer.
I also have old paint I had in a closet I havent used in a year. Can this be used as a primer or do I need Actual primer?
thanks

Stripping woodchip wallpaper?
Posted by: | CommentsIt appears that the woodchip wallpaper in my flat has been painted with something other then emulsion that doesn’t allow steam to penetrate and it has taken me 4 hours to clear just the one strip. Are there any products out there I could use or does anybody have any suggestions for me. I tried scoring the paper and using a propert steamer on it. Nothing seems to work other then scrapping it off. Not looking forward to that so if anybody can help please let me know.

I am 26 weeks pregnant and we are getting ready for baby by stripping the wallpaper from the nursery-to-be and painting it. The house was built in the 70′s, I believe, and so I’m worried if I should even be IN the house while this is going on? Advice? Also, what methods would be safest and easiest for my family to use to be stripping the wall paper? Anyone know of the best paint to use? Thanks!!
