wallpaper stripping

I cannot remember what one calls the piece of wallpaper between the actual wallpaper and the ceiling is called, does anybody have any ideas? Typically it goes around the entire room and is under a foot in height.

How much should it cost to wallpaper a room?

wallpaper stripping

Hi I have an average sized living room and having waited 3 months for hubbie to wallpaper it, I’m still waiting (I have 4 kids and cannot manage it myself).
I have the wallpaper, the previous wallpaper is stripped off, and I asked a decorator for a quote to wallpaper the room. He said £300!
Is this a normal charge? How much would I expect to pay? I live in Birmingham, West Midlands.
Thanks in advance

What is the best way to take down wallpaper?

wallpaper stripping

I want to redo a 1/2 bathroom that I have and I would like to strip the wallpaper. I know there is a chemical you can use but it’s not the most ventilated area and I have a small child so I don’t want to use that. What are some other ways I can get it down?
I would paint over it but it is already peeling in spots and especially in the corners so I don’t think it would look good.

we can’t soak the paper (which is anaglypta) as the water will ruin the board. have managed to get the top layer off but the liner underneath is still there, can we paint over this or does it need to be relined?

I live in a rental appartment and would love to change the look of my living room. I heard about self-stick wall paper that does not require paste and can easily be taken off. Has anyone used this before? Does it strip off paint underneath? Or does anyone know where I can find it? (with hopefully some cool retro designs) I’m looking for the full wall coverings, not just the border. Thanks

I have a paper boarder going around the top of the room that i want to remove, im worried that if i try and steam it off it will make the plasterboard walls damp and damage them, as they are in very good condition i dont want to damage them, is there another way of doing it, or will i be fine steaming them, thanx

How To Use Wallpaper Sizing?

Posted by: | Comments (2)
wallpaper stripping

I have just stripped the old wallpaper off of my living room walls and am ready to put up new. I was told I need to first put up sizing. The sizing I bought came in a box and I have to mix it with water. After that, I am not sure how to use it. Do I let it dry first or do I have to hang the wallpaper while it’s still wet? I really have no idea what to do after I mix the stuff so any tips will help. Thanks!

We need to get it off and get the wall re-painted, but we don’t have much money, and we’re really not sure how. It’s coated (shiney) wallpaper…
