Is it possible to cover wallpaper with new wallpaper?
Posted by: | CommentsI am moving to a rental and the wallpaper is horrible. In the kitchen and master bath it is floor to ceiling. Is there any way to cover the existing wallpaper without stripping it first?
Also when looking on wallpaper websites, I’ve noticed that some wallpapers say “prepasted” does that mean the same as “peel and stick” like so many wallpapers are these days?
How can I remove really stubborn wallpaper?
Posted by: | CommentsI’m stripping some wallpaper… well, to be accurate, it’s 2 -3 layers of wallpaper (from before I bought the house). The trouble is, the last layer is proving really difficult to remove
It’s a shiny, non-porous surface that won’t seperate from it’s backing paper. Therefore my usual method of soaking with a sponge and then scraping it off isn’t working as well as usual.
At the moment I’m having to soak, scrape around the edges, remove a bit and expose more backing paper, soak that, scrape, removing a bit more etc.
At this rate I’ll still be doing it in a months time!
Anyone have any better suggestions? (apart from knocking down the wall – I have toyed with the idea!)
Thanks,
Paul.

Posted by: | CommentsHello,
I have a strip of wallpaper that’s been on my walls for about 10 years. It’s about a foot wide (top to bottom) and it stretches horizontally around my kitchen. I am having trouble peeling it off.
*I have already tried using: Vinegar, and The wallpaper stripping sprays.
