Annoyed at my neighbor. I caught her doing something against the community rules. Was this ok to do?

Bad Solicitors property

We live in a locked secure condo building. This is private property, however we still get the door to door solicitors who weazel their way in our buidling.. worse we have had thefts ect. Recent CCTV has helped deter this.

One of the biggest issues our buidling has if someone knocks on the front door many people would just let them in.. now asking who they are here for etc. I was running to work late one morning. This lady knocked on the front door lobby as I was leaving. I asked her if she lived her she said NO. I asked who is she here to see? She couldn’t tell me. I told her if you can’t answer either of those questions you don’t belong in my buidling and walked away. I caught my neighbor letting this woman in no sooner than me pulling out of the locked drive way. I pulled over and said.. I did not just see you let that woman in.. she said.. oh my son did it. I told her you are the adult here. That was a stranger who did not konw who she was here to see, nor did she live here. I said i’t becuase of people like you that stuff is getting ripped off… think about it!

As long as you were polite yes you did the right thing. It’s your security!

You certainly could have said it in a different way. You are not the front door cop. Why couldn’t you have approached her at another time and explained the situation? You owe her an apology for your rudeness.

I might have worded it a little nicer to her, but you do have a right to your security. Let the condo association know so they can do something about it.
