my ex-partner left our home in such a state that when he said i could have the house back cos he didnt want?

it anymore he left the house in such bad repair that it cost me and my family nearly 10,grand to make it habitable for me and my kids i have been paying mortgage now for four years with no help from him but he says that if i sell the house he wants his half of profit to go to his kids i would like to sell as the area is terrible but if i give the kids his half i wont beable to buy another property due to lack of funds also he didnt pay anything towards the house repair and i feel i will be left out of pocket how can i get round this as i cant afford a solicitor and cant get a mortgage on my wages alone he also does not pay me any maintenance for the kids we lived together there for 10 yrs he had it for 3 yrs alone while i moved out but i have now had it alone for 4 years

You will need a solicitor to fight this – can you not get legal aid ???? You need all receipts etc for work done and mortgage paid. It will then be up to the court to decide if he gets anything or what he will get. He will need money to bring this before the court in the first place though. If his name is still on the mortgage you could be on dodgy ground xxx

I agree with the grammar guy. You need some schooling to learn the basics of writing english. Maybe a little education will help you to get a better job.
It is not clear as to whose name the house is in. Is it both equally? You said that he had it for 3 years alone. If the property is equally in both names, then he gets half and you get half of what is left AFTER the mortgage is satisfied. My opinion is that you should do the minimum repairs that it takes to get the house in saleable condition, sale it, take your half of the proceeds, he will get his half, and move on.
