If selling a house what’s best & least expensive way to buy HIP- via the estate agent or other HIP seller?

By
Conveyancing

I would need to make a deferred payment for HIP. An estate agent here in Lancashire is quoting £520.00 for a HIP (deferred payment) but I would have to use their Conveyancing solicitor, who’s charging £820 incl VAT for property selling for up to £150,000.

Any recommendations, including HIP sellers?

You can buy a HIP online for 200 quid, nobody is interested in them so quality is not an issue. the problem with buying them from an estate agent is that they are not actually yours, so if your agent turns out to be crap and you want to change you will end up paying for a HIP that THEY keep and you have to pay again for for another one from your new agent.

I presume the £820 figure does not include disbursements, you should be able to get a more competitive quote than that.
