How do you get scratches out of laminate flooring?

We moved some furniture on the weekend and put a few light surface scratches on the laminate flooring. Is there any way to get these out (or reduce them) without replacing the boards??
(Its a rental property so i don’t want to start messing around with it too much)

Try to use wax. The scratches will be filled and never seen so easily.

This is a tuff one. First off, you can not just replace a board. Laminate flooring is interlocked in such a way that replacement of a board in the middle of the floor is impossible. You can replace one close to the edge but you have to start from the edge and take out boards until you get to the damanged one. Replacement of a board is in most cases very impractical. I do not know of a really good repair for this stuff. I do have it in my home and highly recommend it but repair has always been a concern of mine. (So far I have been lucky) About the best I could suggest right now is probably not the best way, but I would fill the damaged area with a CRAYON and then wax over it. Should hide it fairly well if the area is not very large.

I would take 2000 grit wet paper and polish them out keepint it wet at all times, that is such a fine paper that you can polish out a car’s finish to a high luster with it. Afterwards if you feel the need to coat it with a rag and some Clear epoxy . Do not use polyurethane on laminate.
You can get 2000 grit at Paint stores or at any auto Paint store for sure $1 a sheet or so.

Actually, it is possible to replace a single board. In fact, any Pergo Endorsed Installer must demonstrate a single plank replacement to receive endorsement. It’s not a very difficult job but the problem is, you probably won’t want to pay a professional to come do it since this is a rental property. Using grit paper will not polish out scratches it will make a dull spot on the finish. Using wax or crayons would be decent ideas but, guess what? There is a product for this very problem. Go to Lowe’s or similar store and look for Precision repair filler. It fills scratches, chips and seams in laminate floors and countertops will and comes in many colours so you will find one that matches your floor.
