Is it better to rent an apartment or a house?

By
rent house

I am not in the position to buy a house or townhome just yet, so I still have to rent. I was thinking perhaps it may be a better idea to rent a HOUSE instead of an apartment in an apartment complex, etc., because at least in a house, its “stand alone” and I wont have to worry about neighbors stomping on my head, hearing their noise or being subjected to their bad habits that may disturb other tenants.

Am I right? Or are there disadvantages to renting a house as opposed to renting an apartment, that I am not aware of?
i cant exactly buy just now bcz of credit – my credit isnt good.

Its better to rent a house——But if your a smart dude youll scrape together a down payment a buy a house paying monthely for 15 years and at the end you own the house—- renting- in the end you own nothing.

rent a house. as an apartment renter, it sucks here. constant loud music, people above me running around in concrete shoes. I’d love to be in a house right now. don’t make the mistake of renting an apartment. if you have the money to spend it on rent for a house, then choose that.

If you can afford $1000 a month rent, why can’t you afford $1100 a month house payment?
You’ll get money back at tax time if you buy.

If you MUST rent…go with a duplex. Find the right place and you can get your own garage.
Townhomes or condos share garages.

Why don’t you look for a house with a ‘rent-to-own’ optiion. Then you aren’t totally throwing your money down the toilet.

Also – are you SURE your not ready to buy? If you can find an inexpensive home where they offer sellers assist, (and youhave good credit), it is 100% possible to buy a house w/ no money down.

Blitr is right, but, with the house, you have to maintain the yard, but, you have more freedom.

I would say rent whatever is cheapest and save as much money as you can and that way you can put more down or even have some money to fix up the house when you buy it the way you want it.
