What do I do in this situation?
ByMy landlord told me Friday (10/23) that she has rented the house Im living in to someone else and that I need to be out by Nov. 1st. This came out of no where! What can I do and does anyone know where I can find a place to rent quickly?

You can stay where you are at, unless there are facts you haven’t presented.
The Land Lord must give you 30 days written notice to move. It isn’t a legal notice unless served in writing. If you do not move, the land lord must file in court for a forcible entry and detainer. You will be given a court date and present why you think you should not have to move. The Land Lord presents why he/she wants you to move. The judge decides if you have to move.
Their are exceptions to the above rules, behind in rent, you or a guest threaten another tenant or the land lord, using the house for criminal purposes, like a meth lab or book making joint. There are many more exceptions that allow much quicker than 30 days eviction notice.

THAT IS ILLEGAL!! I assume you have no lease. Even on a verbal month to month agreement she MUST legally give you 30 days notice. If the rent is not paid then only a 3 day notice is required.
Inform her you are not leaving until you are given proper notice. If she tries to change the locks on you (also illegal) then call the police.
EDIT: OK miss know it all- MOST states require 30 days notice. This is a pretty accurate assumption with out knowing what state this questioner is in.

Not all states require a 30 day notice to terminate a month to month tenancy.
We do not even know if the OP is, in fact, a month to month tenant. The OP may pay rent from week to week for all we know.
Connecticut landlords are only required to give a month to month tenant 3 full days notice to terminate a month to month tenancy – the 3 days must be prior to the end of a rental month.
No one here can give you a legally accurate answer without knowing where the rental is located.

The landlord cannot do that
Do you have a lease? Is it expired? Are you a month to month tenant? Is the person they are renting it to in November a relative?
The landlord cannot tell you 8 days before the end of the month they want to rent it to someone else and to get out. That could land the landlord in court. They need to give you a 30 day notice, meaning (unless you have a lease) you would have until December 1 to move.
Your landlord is counting on you not being assertive or knowing your rights and just going away quietly. Give them a shock!
