I’m thinking about buying a house in Hertfordshire within the next year. Are there particular seasons to avoid where property buying is more in demand?
Why do you think my question is stupid Ivor Biggen..???

Buy in Winter

In the run up to Christmas people are concentrating more on the festive season than moving house so the demand for property is lower. If a vendor is desperate to sell then this is the time to buy as there are fewer buyers out there.
The same applies in school summer holidays.

Not really, but it goes dead about 3 weeks before and three weeks after Christmas. That means anyone who is desperate to sell quickly won’t be showing many people round, they might accept a lower offer if you could move quickly.
The most popular times for buying/selling are Spring and Autumn, but summer can be quite brisk, too.

It depends on where you are buying! In the deep south like Florida more sales occur in the snowbird season and July as the buyers from South America stop in.
In other parts of the country it will be during the summer months for the most part to beat the new school issues. Unless you are in a ski area and then sales will be hot/good in the winter see how it is all about location for this question? Good luck.
